Re-Leave

Water additive to repel Red Mite

A drinking water additive based on natural compounds that promote the wellbeing of poultry. Suitable for organic and conventional poultry farms.

How does it work?

Re-Leave was developed by a French Veterinarian in 2005. This innovative solution uses an array of specific essential oils in a formula which is delivered into the birds’ drinking water.

The red mite assimilates the Re-Leave through taking blood meals from the birds. Re-Leave will disrupt the red mite’s enzymatic digestion, impacting its reproductive capability and leading to its death.

One of the first effects when using Re-Leave is an increase in the red mite mobility and aggregating behaviour. This is a sign of the product working, causing the parasites to exhibit a state of vigilance.

Treatment dosage and frequency

The average daily water consumption of a bird is between 200-250ml. The dosage suggestion for Re-Leave is 0.75-1l of Re-leave per 1000l of drinking water, depending on the burden.

The start-up protocol consists of 7 days consecutive treatment at the earliest point in the flock. This is followed by 2-4 weekly treatments throughout the rest of the flock, depending on the time of year.

The start-up protocol may by repeated during the flock cycle to further reduce red mite populations.
